Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults, is excited to announce the launch of its new podcast, Destination Success, debuting on December 5, 2024, with new episodes released monthly thereafter. This podcast provides invaluable insights for community college students exploring transfer options while engaging administrators and advisors nationwide. It focuses on creating smooth transitions to four-year institutions and highlights how partnerships between community colleges and universities foster student success.

Hosted by Franklin’s community college regional managers, Erika Miller and Jennifer Mack, Destination Success will feature expert advice, success stories, and practical guidance from both students and partner institutions. The podcast aims to empower students by providing the knowledge they need to navigate the often-complex transfer process and advance their educational and career goals.

“Each year, thousands of students make the decision to continue their education by transferring to a four-year institution, and we know that the process can feel overwhelming,” said Erika Miller, community college regional manager at Franklin University. “With Franklin’s new transfer podcast, we hope to provide listeners with expert advice and real-life success stories to inspire them and make their transfer process smooth.”

A Path to Success
Each monthly episode will explore key aspects of the transfer experience, including tips for transferring credits, selecting the right academic program, and leveraging Franklin’s 3+1 program, along with the Pathway Portal, one of the nation’s most effective and affordable transfer programs. The Pathway Portal makes it easy for community college students to transfer their associate degree credits seamlessly toward a bachelor’s degree at Franklin, all while benefiting from affordable, transparent tuition rates.

Overcoming Transfer Challenges
Research indicates that nearly 40% of community college students lose credits during the transfer process when moving from an associate to a bachelor’s degree program, which can delay graduation and increase costs. Franklin University is committed to helping alleviate this issue by offering a transfer-friendly environment that maximizes credit transferability. Through Franklin’s Pathway Portal and partnerships with over 150 community colleges nationwide through its 3+1 program, students can ensure their hard-earned credits transfer seamlessly, reducing the frustration and financial burden often associated with transferring.

“Franklin’s Pathway Portal provides a solution to this common challenge by ensuring students’ credits transfer without loss and at an affordable cost,” said Jennifer Mack, community college regional manager. “With our flexible, online programs and clear pathways to degree completion, we’re helping students achieve their academic goals without the worry of losing credits or time.”

Franklin’s Pathway Portal and Nationwide Partnerships
Franklin’s Pathway Portal helps students maximize the value of their community college education by ensuring seamless credit transfers toward one of Franklin’s 28 bachelor’s degree programs. Since its launch in 2023, more than 5,000 students from community colleges across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Illinois, Kentucky, and North Carolina have joined the Pathway Portal. The program provides a streamlined, affordable path to a bachelor’s degree with a reduced tuition rate of $298 per credit hour, for students that qualify.

With Franklin’s extensive network of over 150 community college partnerships, students across the country can take advantage of the Pathway Portal, ensuring they have access to a smooth and affordable transfer process.
