Learn to drive efficient business processes and effectively manage projects
In Franklin’s B.S. Information Systems with a focus in Business Analysis & Project Management, you’ll apply what you learn through hands-on assignments rooted in real-world scenarios. Through a series of six focus area courses you’ll gain the knowledge and skills to plan, execute and manage projects that are completed on time, within budget and aligned with business objectives. You’ll learn how to enhance existing business processes and strategies by analyzing an organization’s business needs, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending solutions. Project work will enhance your leadership and communication skills so that you can lead project teams, collaborate with stakeholders and convey project goals and progress. You’ll also develop your ability to make informed, data-driven decisions that contribute to organizational success.

Build a versatile and in-demand skill set in information systems and project management
The B.S. Information Systems contains 10 major area courses that are common to all focus areas. In these courses, you’ll gain knowledge and skills that span computing, security, analytics and business, as well as the ability to apply information systems technology principles to drive business strategy, translate business needs into executable projects, and evaluate current and emerging technologies.
A balance of theory and hands-on practice will provide you with working knowledge of industry standard tools like SQL, problem-solving using algorithms, essential cybersecurity knowledge, and concepts and technical knowledge related to information systems architecture and technology.
You’ll learn to understand and apply object-oriented systems analysis and design to be able to perform as a system analyst/designer. You’ll also gain familiarity with current and emerging enterprise resource planning systems (ERPs) that are used to support business processes and operations throughout an organization.
Using the nine project management knowledge areas outlined in the Project Management Institute's PMBOK® Guide, you’ll be introduced to the concepts of IT-project management and techniques for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling resources to achieve project goals.
You’ll also learn the fundamentals of business and data analytics including business problem framing, data wrangling, statistics, data visualization and data storytelling. Because data is distributed across many different platforms like databases, spreadsheets and APIs, you’ll learn how to build cloud-hosted and web-based applications, dashboards and workflows that require very little programming code.
