Franklin University Welcomes New Board of Trustees Leadership: David White Elected Board Chair, Stacey Armstrong as Vice Chair

Franklin University is pleased to announce the election of David White as Chairperson of its Board of Trustees during the Board’s Annual Meeting in January. White succeeds Stan Partlow, who led the Board with distinction during his term.

David White Elected as Chair

“I am deeply honored to serve as Chair of Franklin University’s Board of Trustees,” said David White. “Franklin University is a beacon of opportunity, empowering adult learners to transform their lives through online education. I am committed to building on the remarkable work of the Board and the University’s leadership to ensure Franklin continues to shape the broadest community of learners worldwide.”

David White brings extensive leadership experience to his role as Chair. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of the Technology Practice for RTI International, he previously held the position of Chief Information Officer at Battelle, where he led enterprise-wide technology initiatives. White has also served in executive-level roles within the State of Ohio, including as Executive Program Manager of the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System and Director of State Accounting at the Office of Budget and Management.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, White is actively engaged in the community, serving on the CIO Advisory Board for Box.com, the Columbus African American Leadership Academy Advisory Board, and the COSI Community Board. An alumnus of Franklin University, White earned his degree in computer management after studying electrical engineering at The Ohio State University and earning a degree in business administration from Columbus State Community College.

Stacey Armstrong Elected Vice Chair

The Board also elected Stacey Armstrong, president of the WVU Innovation Corporation as Vice Chair. Armstrong’s distinguished career spans decades of leadership in healthcare, and includes previously serving as Chief Operating Officer of Riverside Methodist Hospital. During her time at OhioHealth, she also served as Chief Operating Officer and President of Grant Medical Center in Columbus and as Vice President of Specialty Services for OhioHealth Physicians Group. Stacey currently serves on the Partnerships Committee and Chairs the Human Resource & Advancement Committee.

A proud Franklin University MBA graduate, Armstrong also holds a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Indiana University. “I am thrilled to contribute to Franklin University’s mission as Vice Chair,” Armstrong said. “Franklin has played a pivotal role in my professional journey, and I am excited to support the University’s efforts in fostering leadership and student success.”
