Profile

Dr. Kristin Burke Martin,

Program Chair, MBA Program & Lead Faculty, Financial Management since January 2021.

In 2021, I received the award for being one of the Top 100 Visionaries in Education from the Global Forum for Education and Learning (GFEL) for her contributions to higher education. 

In October 2021, I was elected Vice President for the Great Lakes Region of the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) in October 2021. 

In August 2019, I became the MBA Director at Columbia College in South Carolina, where I designed an online MBA program.

In July 2019, I had the privilege to teach Multinational Corporate Finance abroad in Hanoi, Vietnam, at Vietnam National University (VNU). 

Previously to entering academia full-time, I held various positions within the Financial Industry for 30 years, including ten years with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

I obtained the following degrees:

  • Doctorate in International Business from Walden University in 2018.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Averett University in 1996.
  • Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1991.
