Profile

Robert E. Levasseur, Ph.D., received his doctorate in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University in 2004. He has since served on the faculty at Walden, both full and part time, in the School of Management and in the School of Public Policy and Administration. In addition to mentoring doctoral students and serving on dissertation committees of over 100 PhD and DBA students, Dr. Levasseur has taught Foundations of Doctoral Study, Data Analysis/Statistics, Leadership and Organizational Change, Global Supply Chain Management in the doctoral program. Since 2009, Dr. Levasseur has also taught doctoral level courses in Strategic Leadership, Managing Change, and Research Methods, and served on dissertation committees. Previously, Dr. Levasseur taught numerous qualitative and quantitative management courses, both online and in the classroom at the undergraduate and graduate level in a variety of schools, including Boston University, University of Maryland University College, University of the Virgin Islands, and Franklin University. He also taught seminars in the MBA program for the International School of Management in Paris for five years. Prior to earning his Ph.D., Dr. Levasseur held many professional and leadership positions in major US corporations during a business career that spanned three decades. He holds master's degrees in Management (MIT Sloan School) and Electrical Engineering (Northeastern University), and bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering (MIT) and Physics (Bowdoin College). His research interests include leadership and organizational change, the application of quantitative methods to decision-making, high-performance team development, collaborative meeting management, and organization development/change management. Dr. Levasseur is the author of numerous articles and seven books, including Dissertation Research: An Integrative Approach, and Building the Perfect Team.
