Profile

Dr. Ron Black is a seasoned higher education leader with an earned doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. His career has focused on higher education where he served as a Vice President and Chief Information Officer at five colleges and universities. Ron left higher education administration in 2006 to focus on his passion for teaching adults. From 2004 to 2013, Ron was an associate and full-time doctoral faculty member at the University of Phoenix. Ron has served as a doctoral mentor since 2005 at the University of Phoenix, Grand Canyon University, is currently a professional doctoral capstone Mentor/contributing faculty member in the DBA program at Walden University, and a research methodologist at Franklin University. Black is a dynamic speaker with published articles in peer-reviewed journals and an innovative developer of strategic technology alliances. Recent conference presentations have included: The Dissertation Marathon, E-Mentoring the Online Doctoral Student from the Dissertation Prospectus through Dissertation Completion, Unveiling Strategic Alliances for Teaching and Learning, and Motivating the Online Graduate Student. The Dissertation Marathon was published in the Contemporary Issues in Education Research, Volume 5-2, 97-104 2, and E-Mentoring the Online Doctoral Student from the Dissertation Prospectus through Dissertation Completion was published in the Journal of Learning in Higher Education.
