Veteran Payment Policies

Veteran Payment Policies

Each VA educational benefit varies in type of payments sent to the school and or student directly. Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill, and the Chapter 31 Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) program pay tuition to the school and monthly benefits to the student depending on eligibility ratings. All other VA benefits pay the student directly proportioned to their enrollment.

Funds sent directly to students will arrive at your home address or through electronic transfer if you have set up direct deposit with the VA. If you signed up for direct deposit when you applied for education benefits, the VA will deposit your payment into your bank account 7 to 10 business days after you verify your school enrollment. This is the fastest way to receive your payment.
