Work Study Opportunities
January 30, 2025
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program at Franklin University offers students the chance to earn income while gaining valuable work experience that enhances their educational journey. Eligibility for this program is established by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Please note that international students are not eligible for this program.
The FWS program provides part-time employment opportunities for students who demonstrate financial need based on federal guidelines. These positions enable students to earn money to help cover educational expenses. Work-study opportunities are available both on-campus and off-campus through our community partners. Off-campus positions often focus on community service, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings and make meaningful contributions to local organizations. While most opportunities are based in Ohio, limited remote or out-of-state positions may be available depending on employer participation.
Wages for Federal Work-Study positions range from $13.42 to $16.39 per hour for on-campus roles and $15.58 per hour for off-campus community service positions. Please note that FWS earnings are not grants applied to tuition; they are paid semi-monthly to you based on the hours worked. These earnings are subject to federal and state taxes, and students must complete all necessary employment documentation before beginning work.
Please visit our careers site to learn more about the program or explore available positions.
